Online Mothers Group
The Village Program
Program Overview
Pregnancy and early motherhood can be both beautiful and overwhelming. For women living in rural, regional or remote communities, or those feeling isolated from family and support networks, the journey can feel even more lonely.
The Village program is a online support group created to ensure that every mother has access to evidence-based perinatal support, no matter where she lives.
Whether you’re preparing for the arrival of your baby or navigating the early months of motherhood, this online support program provides a safe and welcoming space to connect with other women experiencing similar challenges, while learning practical strategies to support your emotional wellbeing.
Throughout the program you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Connect with other mothers who understand your journey
- Feel less isolated and more supported
- Learn practical strategies to manage worry, stress and anxiety
- Build confidence as you prepare for or adjust to motherhood
- Develop skills to care for your emotional wellbeing
- Strengthen your connection with yourself, your baby and your growing family
- Access specialist perinatal support from the comfort of your own home
Whether you’re expecting your first baby or adjusting to life after birth, this program provides compassionate support through both the antenatal and postnatal periods.
Delivered live via a secure online platform, the program brings together mothers from across metropolitan, regional and remote communities in a warm, professionally facilitated environment.
You’ll be invited to participate at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There is never any expectation to share more than you’d like, and every mother’s experience is welcomed with compassion and respect.
For many women, one of the greatest benefits of the program is simply realising they are not alone. Sharing the journey with other mothers who understand can reduce feelings of isolation and create lasting friendships and support beyond the program itself.
For women requiring additional support, the program can be complemented with individual psychological therapy as part of our personalised, collaborative approach to care. Where appropriate, we work alongside your GP, obstetrician, psychiatrist, midwife and other healthcare providers to ensure your support is coordinated and tailored to your individual needs.
Whether you’re navigating pregnancy, the challenges of motherhood, or simply seeking connection with other mothers, The Village offers a place where you’ll feel understood, supported and connected, no matter where you call home.
How the Group Works
Our Online Mums Group meets once a week for 60 minutes, providing a welcoming and supportive space to connect, learn and feel understood, wherever you are.
You can join at any time. There is no need to wait for a new intake or commit to a fixed program. Each session is designed as a standalone discussion, allowing you to attend when you need support most.
Rather than following a set curriculum, each week’s session is shaped by the needs of the mothers attending. Conversations are responsive to the group’s experiences, with topics evolving to reflect what is most relevant and helpful at the time.
One of the unique strengths of this group is that it is facilitated by a collaborative team of qualified health professionals, rather than a single facilitator. Throughout the year, you’ll benefit from the collective knowledge and experience of our multidisciplinary team, with different facilitators bringing their own areas of expertise, perspectives, practical strategies and evidence-based resources.
Depending on the week’s discussion, sessions may be led by professionals with experience in areas such as:
- Perinatal mental health
- Pregnancy and postnatal wellbeing
- Infant development and attachment
- Nutrition and wellbeing
- Parenting and family relationships
- Birth recovery and adjustment to parenthood
- Emotional wellbeing, stress management and self-care
This collaborative approach means you’ll have access to a broader range of knowledge, skills and support than you would through a single facilitator. It also ensures discussions remain fresh, engaging and responsive, while providing opportunities to learn from the diverse expertise within our own community of health professionals.
Topics may include:
- Managing anxiety, overwhelm and emotional wellbeing
- Adjusting to pregnancy or life with a new baby
- Sleep, self-care and coping with exhaustion
- Relationships, identity and the transition to parenthood
- Feeding, bonding and building confidence
- Coping with isolation and building meaningful connections
- Navigating birth recovery, loss or unexpected experiences
- Sharing practical strategies, celebrating wins and supporting one another
There is no expectation to share more than you feel comfortable with. Some weeks you may simply listen and take in the conversation, while other weeks you may feel ready to ask questions or share your own experiences. Every way of participating is valued, and every mother’s journey is respected.
Together, you’ll become part of a caring community while also gaining access to the collective wisdom, experience and support of an entire team of professionals, giving you confidence that you’re receiving holistic, evidence-based care throughout your parenting journey.

Meet the Facilitators
Our programs are facilitated by a carefully selected team of psychologists and allied health professionals who bring both clinical expertise and genuine warmth to every session. Each facilitator has been chosen for their specialist experience in the areas they teach whether that's perinatal mental health, relationship dynamics, anxiety, or nervous system regulation and shares our belief that effective therapy should feel safe, human, and grounded in real life. You won't find a one-size-fits-all approach here. What you will find is a room full of people who truly get it.
