Couples Perinatal Loss
Holding Hearts Program
Program Overview
The loss of a baby is one of the most heartbreaking experiences a couple can face. While each partner carries their own grief, they are also navigating the impact of loss on their relationship, family and hopes for the future.
Grief rarely looks the same for two people. One partner may need to talk, while the other withdraws. One may be ready to look forward while the other is simply trying to get through the day. These differences are normal, but they can leave couples feeling disconnected at a time when they need each other most.
Our Holding Hearts program is a psychologist-led, trauma-informed program designed specifically for couples who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal loss, termination for medical reasons, or another form of perinatal loss. Together, you’ll be supported to understand one another’s grief, strengthen your relationship, and find ways to move forward while honouring the love you will always hold for your baby.
Throughout the program you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Better understand your own grief and your partner’s experience
- Strengthen communication and emotional connection
- Learn practical ways to support one another through loss
- Navigate differences in grieving with greater understanding and compassion
- Reduce feelings of isolation and reconnect as a couple
- Honour your baby’s memory while finding hope for the future
- Build resilience as you face anniversaries, future pregnancies and life’s ongoing transitions together
We believe there is no right or wrong way to grieve. Rather than trying to “move on,” this program helps couples learn how to carry their grief together, strengthening their relationship while creating space for love, remembrance and hope.
Delivered in a small, professionally facilitated group, this program provides a safe and compassionate environment where couples can connect with others who understand the unique challenges of perinatal loss. While there are opportunities for shared learning and discussion, much of the program involves private conversations and reflective exercises completed together as a couple. You’ll never be expected to share more than feels comfortable, and every family’s story is honoured with care and respect.
Some couples find great comfort in connecting with others who truly understand the impact of losing a baby. Many leave the program not only feeling better equipped to support one another but also reassured that they are not alone.
Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, our Holding Hearts program offers a place where your baby’s life is remembered, your relationship is supported, and you are gently guided towards healing together.
The Rose Garden Program
While our Holding Hearts program has been created specifically for couples, we recognise that mothers sometimes wish to explore their grief in the company of other women who have experienced the loss of a baby.
For mothers seeking individual support, we also offer The Rose Garden program a psychologist-led support group dedicated to providing a safe, compassionate space for mothers to grieve, heal and connect with others who truly understand.

Meet the Facilitators
Our programs are facilitated by a carefully selected team of psychologists and allied health professionals who bring both clinical expertise and genuine warmth to every session. Each facilitator has been chosen for their specialist experience in the areas they teach whether that's perinatal mental health, relationship dynamics, anxiety, or nervous system regulation and shares our belief that effective therapy should feel safe, human, and grounded in real life. You won't find a one-size-fits-all approach here. What you will find is a room full of people who truly get it.
